ESSAY and VIDEO Competition for Students in Ethiopia!!

This competition is designed to expand the conversations on issues about entrepreneurship, economic freedom, and liberty by Ethiopians, motivate and reward recent graduates and student leaders of liberty who exhibit exceptional narrative skills using short video presentation and writing essays. Those who wish to enter in the video presentation competition must upload their videos in their face book or YouTube and submit a video link via email. The length of the videos should be at least 10 minutes but no more than 15 minutes. They can also directly send their videos by attachment to teaminitiatives1@gmail.com Your essay should not be less than a page but no more than two pages.

Eligibility

Participation in this competition is open to fresh graduates and students who are at least 18 years of age, resident in Ethiopia. We reserve the right to verify an individual’s eligibility to participate in the competition.

The competition is conceived entirely as an online challenge open to Ethiopian students and recent graduates from across the country. Participants are expected to send their essays to teaminitiatives1@gmail.com and the winners would be decided by a panel of jury.

Awards

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 in each of the two categories namely short video presentation and essay. The award includes a cash prizes ranges from 2000 to 5,000 birr along with a free invitation to attend our week long seminar on entrepreneurship and economic freedom. And more!

 Application

The deadline for submitting work is 05 December 2013 at Midnight GMT+3.

There is no entry fee to submit work. You can enter in both categories as many times as you wish. However, you can only select one question at a time and you can’t answer many questions at a time. All submissions must be in the English or Amharic language.

The questions for both categories are similar and they are:

1)    What makes a society free? What must we do to achieve the type of free society that we envisioned?

2)      Discuss how economic freedom facilitates entrepreneurship?

3)      What do you think about free market, privatization, & trade liberalization?
